The predicted rain is on our doorstop. While this week's field dries better than any other in town - so that even brief steady rain wouldn't be a flooding issue - everyone's heard "rain on Sunday morning" for days and.we'd be hard pressed to get 18. There are puddles and geese everywhere except for the Dennison infield, which is in incredible shape! But with the prospect of replacing a ball every time that it hits the grass and with thunder rumbling as we go to press, this is our first rainout since the Memorial Day Sunday game was moved to Monday and it's the first weekend without baseball since May 12!

With the forecasts for Labor Day Monday worse than for Sunday, I did not even pull the permit for tomorrow. Have a safe holiday weekend and we'll resume the pennant chase next week!
